However, people have also been speculating about the affordability and accessibility quotient of the vaccine. Who gets the vaccine shots first is a question that has been on everyone's minds.

After PM Modi unveiled the National Digital Health Mission on Independence Day , these speculations were put to rest. Ashwini Kumar Choubey, union minister of state for health and family welfare stated that the first vaccine in India, either developed or imported shall be administered to the corona warriors meaning the frontline health workers.

On the other hand, PM Modi, while addressing the nation on Independence Day had stated that all preparations in relation to the indigenous vaccine has been done and if the scientists give a green signal in terms of the success of the now ongoing phase- III clinical trials, mass production shall be undertaken. According to official sources, a road map has been prepared to ensure that the COVID-19 vaccine reaches everyone in the shortest possible time.
