War against Covid-19: Oxygen Express Train reaches Assam

While the entire nation is gasping for oxygen, there is a ray of hope for the people from the Northeast. Here is a special report

The first-ever "Oxygen Express Train" has arrived at the Northeast Frontier Railway's Inland Container Depot in Guwahati.
The oxygen train has 4 containers comprising of 80 metric tons of liquid medical oxygen which will be strictly used for treating the covid patients.
Assam Chief Minister  Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma officially received the oxygen containers.

Assam Chief Minister  Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma officially received the oxygen containers and handed them over to the State health department.
The oxygen train has 4 containers comprising of 80metric tons of liquid medical oxygen which will be strictly used for treating the covid patients.
Under the initiative by the central government, this train arrived in Assam from Jamshedpur.
Dr Sarma thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his concern and the life-saving initiative. He informed that the oxygen trains will come to Assam twice a week and will be distributed to the other northeastern states.

The oxygen manufacturing units in Assam are currently producing 70 metric tons of liquid medical oxygen per day.
So far the Indian Railways has delivered nearly 14500 metric tons of oxygen in more than 884 tankers to various states across the country.
