Voters' list to be used to contact people for Covid vaccination status

Assam Health Minister assures every action to be taken to ensure Assam Covid-free

A three-member committee has begun house-to-house inspections for three days starting from yesterday to 23 August after which a detailed report will be prepared under the guidance of DC, Kamrup(M), and health department officials. Every polling station shall function as a COVID Vaccine Center from 25 August to 31 August and non-vaccinated persons shall be administered doses in this time period on mission mode. There are a total of 456 numbers of polling station locations covering 1,204 polling booths of the Kamrup(M) district. This was stated in a press meet yesterday addressed by Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta.
It was mentioned that Guwahati alone has witnessed 164 cases on Friday with a total of 708 cases in entire Assam and as the number of daily positive cases remain above 100, the minister announced an extensive vaccination drive for Guwahati for which 1,204 polling booths will be used as data points to identify citizen in Guwahati who have not been vaccinated yet.
H&FW Minister also announced a special missed call facility number for Kamrup (M) district '8929103776' which can also be used by residents of Guwahati who have not been vaccinated to give missed calls & get assistance for COVID vaccination.
It is to be mentioned that each polling booth has its separate list of voters which means 1,204 voter list sheets will be used to contact every voter/resident of Guwahati for enquiring about the vaccination status. For this purpose already 1,204 Block Level Officers(BLOs) against each list have been imparted training for vaccination verification at Kamrup (M) Deputy Commissioner's Office on 20 August. BLOs will be visiting every house according to his/her list accompanied by an ASHA worker & a Nagarik Committee member or gaonburah depending on the area.

In addition, the H&FW Minister also announced a special missed call facility number for Kamrup (M) district '8929103776' which can also be used by residents of Guwahati who have not been vaccinated to give missed calls & get assistance for COVID vaccination. After giving the missed call, the person shall be contacted by the health officials informing him about the date and venue for vaccination. The whole objective of the entire process is to make Guwahati fully COVID Vaccinated, he added. 
The Minister also warned for stringent actions from the district administration of Kamrup Metro district if the citizens do not abide by COVID-19 protocols. He also said that from now onwards, every shopping mall and shop of Guwahati has to display self-declaration certificates of vaccination in their respective business establishments which will be inspected and verified by district officials physically. The Minister also appealed to the citizens to take pride in getting vaccinated & urged everyone to come out with full enthusiasm to get vaccinated and contribute towards a COVID Protected society.
Notably, 10,51,451(94.96%) residents of the city have already been administered the first dose of the vaccine and around 3,58,784(32.40%) have completed both doses. The missed call facility initiated by the department has already received 250 calls till 10:30 AM of 21st August.
