United Nations to support the health empowerment of females
The UN spokesperson Farhan Haq declined to comment directly on the draft U.S Supreme Court decision
The General Secretary of the United Nation, Antonio Guterres said that he believes that sexual and reproductive health and rights are the "foundation for lives of choice, empowerment and equality for the world's women and girls". He expressed this emotion on Tuesday after the leak of a draft legal decision that would overturn U.S abortion rights.
While the UN spokesperson Farhan Haq declined to comment directly on the draft U.S Supreme Court decision, he said Guterres has reportedly raised concerns about "a global push-back" on women's rights, including reproductive rights and essential health services.
The authenticity of the draft was confirmed by the U.S Supreme court. This draft ruling to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion nationwide but also said that the draft did not represent the final decision, which is due by the end of June.
Under former U.S President Donald Trump's administration, the United Nations led a push at the United Nations against the promotion of women's sexual and reproductive rights and health because it sees that as code for abortion.In regards to this issue, the U.S Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield said that the leak of the drafts has been an issue of concern for all associated with it and assured that the works towards the support of girl's reproductive health will continue as it was carried out earlier. She then added that "We restored U.S standing on the issue".

Under former U.S President Donald Trump's administration, the United Nations led a push at the United Nations against the promotion of women's sexual and reproductive rights and health because it sees that as code for abortion. It opposed the long-agreed international language in U.N resolutions.
Trump also cut the funding in 2017 for the U.S Population Fund because it said it "supports, or participates in the management of, a program of coercive abortion or involuntary sterilization".
The U.N said that was an inaccurate perception. The administration of President Joe Biden has restored the funding.
