The First Aid Council of India launches special course in Assam

'First Aid Specialist' will be a one year course which can be done after one completes their higher secondary school

A new course named 'First Aid Specialist' has been formally launched in Assam by the First Aid Council of India  . First Aid Council is an an Autonomous Body . The time span of this course is one year and was first started at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee University in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh government. The syllabus has been designed as per the requirement of every common man of India.
Addressing the media fraternity at a press conference, Dr Alam, President of the First Aid Council of India said that first aid is the basic and very important element about which we all should be aware of.
Dr Alam said that as per data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in the years 2020-2021 and till now, there is no law or availability about how to promote first aid

It was added that as per a medical report published in 2018, it was seen that India is the first country where people die due to lack of first aid. Among 199 countries, India lies in the first place where people die due to lack of first aid. Medical census reports show that among 1 lakh people, there is 1 doctor in India.

It was added that first aid is a lot more than just applying some medications. It includes the immediate treatment that any kind of patient can be given either at the home or at an accident site where the injury occurs. The basic first aid which can be given to a patient before bringing them to the hospital can give the patient relief and in special cases, it can even save one's life.
It was highlighted that students from any stream can enrol in this course after passing their higher secondary classes. The course fees for the entire year will be Rs 41,000.
