Sub-varient of Omicron found in Manipur and Assam

The new sub-varient is a branch of the main Omicron varient BA.1 and is studied by researchers around the globe

The fast-spreading Omicron variant is creating terror in almost all the countries of the world. Amid this fear, researchers are trying their best to come up with new conclusions regarding this variant.
Reports say that it is spreading extremely rapidly in Assam, Manipur, Telangana and New Delhi.
India's genome sequencing consortia, INSACOG has said that this new variant is a substantial fraction in India and the S-gene drop-out based screening is thus likely to give a high false negative.
Dr Tamorish Kole, president of the Asian Society of Emergency Medicine said that at the time when the people are fighting with the Omicron Variant BA.1, there has been the detection of a sub-variant BA.2.it has been highlighted that this new sub-variant is also a variant of concern. It was informed that to date there is no evidence that proves that the new variant is harmful.
