State Health Minister visits State Cancer Institute

In order to take stock of the ongoing construction, the Health and Family Welfare Minister Keshab Mahanta visited the State Cancer Institute at the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital on June 10.
The minister was accompanied by the Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Health and Family Welfare, Commissioner and Secretary, and the Director of Medical Dedication of Assam.
During the visit, the minister took a report regarding ongoing construction. He additionally analyzed the progress in the functioning of the cancer treatment machine, "TOMOTHERAPY," and the installation of "PET-MRI" for the first time in the Northeast. During this visit, the Director of State Cancer Institute, Dr BC Goswami, presented a presentation elaborating the institutional growth. 
During the visit, the minister took a report regarding ongoing construction. He further analyzed the progress in the functioning of the cancer treatment machine, "TOMOTHERAPY," and the installation of "PET-MRI" for the first time in the Northeast.
In connection to the same, he further gave an account of the academic activities, like the post-doctoral course MCh in Surgical Oncology, along with a two-year fellowship program in various disciplines in oncology.

The health minister emphasizes the need to accelerate the construction by the end of 2021. At the same meeting, Mahanta, on behalf of the Cancer Institute, received 17 oxygen concentrators from the Tata Sons.
Following that, the minister visited the DiNC, which is the digital patient registration and tracking system.
