Special Vaccination Drive For Eminent Personalities In State

To ensure every individual's vaccination, The Health and Family Welfare Department taken the initiative to start a different vaccination drive for the eminent personalities in the state. This initiative has started on June 1.

The Principal Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Anurag Goel, has directed all the deputy commissioners to create a list of all the eminent personalities who will be privileged to receive the vaccination at their doorsteps.

In a letter to all the deputy commissioners, Goel stated that the Assam has a rich culture, and many eminent and distinguished persons reside in Assam. But it is due to many issues like their age, mobility issues that may hinder the process of their vaccination. These people being an asset to our state, it is our responsibility to ensure they get vaccinated, which will be helpful as a preventive measure.

To execute this wise action, The Joint Director of Health Services and the Additional Chief Medical Officer of all districts will make all the necessary arrangements, including vehicles/ambulances, mobile medical unit etc. The vehicles will be equipped with all the machinery coupled with human force to tackle any post-vaccination emergency.

A route map will be prepared by the respective district administration. It will be bundled up in a group of 10 or 20 to avoid vaccination wastage.

The Principal Secretary strictly advised the deputy commissioners to keep them updated with a weekly report of the drive.
