Some states still under Covid danger zone

The union government on Thursday has said that the cases of Covid in India are lowering and the graph is flattening. It was highlighted that 400 districts have logged over 10 % positivity rate in the week ending January 26.
Even though overall cases are going down, the state-wise cases in Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Rajasthan are still on a rise. On the other hand, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Odisha, Haryana and West Bengal have shown a dip in Covid cases.
Addressing a press conference, joint secretary in the Health Ministry, Luv Agarwal said that the early indications of a plateau in cases are being reported in certain geographies. It was added that the trend needs to be observed.
95 per cent of India's adults are vaccinated in India, which include 74% as fully vaccinated.Warning against any lax in observing Covid " appropriate behaviour, Agarwal said that 400 districts reported over 10 per cent weekly Covid positivity while in 141 districts it was between five to 10 per cent in the week ending January 26.

Regarding the vaccine coverage, it was added that 95 per cent of India's adults are vaccinated in India, which include 74% as fully vaccinated.
97.03 lakh healthcare, frontline workers and co-morbid people aged 60 and above have been given the precautionary doses. 59% within the age group of 15-18 have taken their first doses.
