Sikkim gets the first batch of central assistance to counter Covid-19 surge

"We have already received 250 concentrators and received 60 more yesterday"

Sikkim on Sunday received 60 Oxygen concentrators from the central government which was transported by Sikkim Nationalised Transport (SNT),  said health secretary Dr. Pempa Bhutia.
He further informs that two Oxygen concentrators are being provided to each PHC within the state and one concentrator in each ward of the District hospitals.
"We have already received 250 concentrators and received 60 more yesterday," he states.
It was also stated that the state government was setting up a 2nd oxygen plant with a capacity to produce 200 litres per minute at Sir Thudop Namgyal Memorial Hospital (STNM) at Sokeythang.
He informed that the state Health Department had also proposed a new Oxygen plant with a capacity of 200 litres per minute for Gyalshing District Hospital in West Sikkim which according to him has been approved by the state government.
"We are getting the plant from the GOI by the end of this month and the civil works for its installation is complete," he added.

He informed that the state Health Department had also proposed a new Oxygen plant with a capacity of 200 litres per minute for Gyalshing District Hospital in West Sikkim which according to him has been approved by the state government. For information to all.
The Secretary also informs that the state has also received 500 vials of Remdesivir from Sun Pharma today from which 240 vials have been given to STNM Hospital today.
"We also received 60 oxygen concentrators out of which 15 each has already been issued to Namchi District Hospital and Singtam District Hospital today itself," he stated.
