Several places in Guwahati declared Micro-Containment Zones

City records new Covid-19 cases: New SOP issued to attend marriages and funerals issued

In view of the surge in Covid-19 cases, some areas in Guwahati have been declared Micro-containment zones. The locations which have been declared as micro-containment zones are- Rupnagar Main Road, GMC Path, Srimantapur Path, Kamakhya High School in Maligaon and the Chief Minister's Vigilance Office at Rupnagar.
A total of 12 staffers working in the CM's Vigilance Office have been infected with the virus. CM Vigilance Cell SP Rosy Kalita has also tested positive for the deadly virus. 
According to the Government order, no person has permission to enter this campus till the upcoming 1 week.
A new SOP has been issued on October 28, which orders that not more than 100 people will be allowed to attend funerals and last rites in Assam, provided its 50 per cent of the total capacity in a closed venue.
Another notice issued by the Government of Assam in association with the Disaster Management Authority declares that Garigaon Balika Muktab has been declared a Micro-containment zone after the detection of Covid-19 among the teachers.

Whereas only 200 fully-vaccinated people will be allowed to attend weddings and the number of attendees has to go down by 50% if it is organized in a closed area.
As per reports by Health and Family Welfare Department, a total of 244 cases were detected on October 27 along with 6 deaths and the positivity rate logged in 0.64%.
