September 25: A special day dedicated to the pharmacists

Initially observed in Istanbul in the year 2009, this day aims to pay respect to the dedicated services of every pharmacist

"It feels very good when people come to us in their hard times and we get a chance to help them by giving them medicine. We feel blessed to be in such a profession where we get to do something for humanity", says Rishav Das, a pharmacist from Ulubari.
Similarly, another pharmacist in Assam during his interaction with Fit Northeast said that even though their work requires a lot of mental focus as they deal with the lives of people, they have to stay alert all the time.
September 25 is observed as World Pharmacists Day all across the globe to pay tributes to the hard work and dedication of all the pharmacists. Another purpose of observing this day is to encourage activities that promote and advocate the role of the pharmacist in the health sector.
The theme for the year 2021 is developed by the International Pharmaceutical Federation and says- "Pharmacy: Always trusted for your health".
