School classes in Meghalaya sets to restart classes
Task force headed by the Deputy Commissioner has been set up to ensure the safe operation of schools
In Meghalaya , a notice has been issued by the Education Department which says that the classes from I to XII will resume in Shillong and Shillong agglomeration. Offline classes from class I to class XII will continue in the rest of the state until further notice.
The Education Department has also made a slew of recommendations to the district authorities to consider. The DCs have been empowered to assess the risk locally and decide on reopening of schools, online or offline, taking into consideration of the Covid-19 cases and in consultation with the district health officials.
Another notification order that the Education department said March 12, 2022, will be the end date for the academic session 2021As per the recommendation, a task force committee headed by the DC may be constituted to monitor the resumption and safe operations of the schools. The recommendation says that elementary and higher secondary school teachers are to attend their class according to the duty chart for the compulsory transaction of lessons and submission of assignments. College and higher education institutes are to design their online classes and related activities accordingly.
