Organisations provide help to Assam Medical College and Hospital
Two of the leading organisations in the Northeast hands over Covid essentials to a hospital in Assam, appreciating their selfless help towards humanity during the pandemic
PPE kits worth Rs 10 lakh were donated to Assam Medical College and Hospital by the State Bank of India Foundation on June 14. The amount of Rs 10 lakh was withdrawn from the CRS fund of the bank.
Kamlesh Kumar Singh, the Deputy General Manager of the bank, formally handed over the kits to the Principal of Assam Medical College and Hospital, Dr Sanjib Kakati.

The Superintendent of the College, Dr Prasanta Dihingia, and the ICU in charge, Dr Karuna Kumar Das, were present at the ceremony. Other senior bank officials were also present at the event.

Jnan Prakash Sarmah, the Deputy General Secretary, Staff Association North East Circle, briefed the people about the SBI Foundation. He also expressed thankfulness to the staff of Assam Medical College and Hospital for their dedicated services towards humanity in this hour of crisis. Dr Kakati even thanked SBI for appreciating their noble works towards society.
An ambulance was also donated to the AMCH by The Numaligarh Refinery Limited from their CSR fund. The managing director of the refinery, SK Baruah, was thanked by Dr Sanjib Kakati for his prompt response to the request of the medical college.
