New SOP in force in Assam from 20 July
Golaghat, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur and Biswanath showing highest positivity rate
The Assam Government has issues new SOP for both urban and rural areas which will remain in force from 5 AM of 20 July 2021 until further order. 24 hours curfew has been imposed in Golaghat, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Sonitpur and Biswanath districts which are showing highest positivity rate.
In the districts with highest positivity rate, every office (Government and Private), weekly bazaars, shops, restaurants and food joints, sale counters, cold storages and warehouses will remain closed, except for shops dealing with groceries which will be open till 5 PM. There is a strict no to any kind of gatherings or visit to religious places. Marriages are not allowed but a maximum of 10 people can take part in a funeral. Delivery of essential commodities, pharmacies, veterinary clinics and hospitals will remain open for 24 hours.
Goalpara and Morigaon districts showed moderate positivity where the curfew timings will be from 1 PM to 5 AM. Offices and any kind of business establishment, restaurants, hotels, cold storages and warehouses will remain open till 12 PM. Only 10 people are permitted to attend marriages and funerals. Pharmacies, hospitals and vet clinics will be open round the clock.
In the districts with highest positivity rate, every office, weekly bazaars, shops, restaurants and food joints, sale counters, cold storages and warehouses will remain closed, except for shops dealing with groceries which will be open till 5 PM.Dhubri, Kamrup Metro, South Salmara, Majuli, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Udalguri, West Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, Charaideo, Hailakandi, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, Kokrajhar, Barpeta, Nalbari, Baksa, Bajali, Tinisukia, Nogaon, Hojai, Dhemaji, Cachar, Karimganj, Karbi Anglong show competitively better improvements than the other districts where curfew timing is from 5 AM to 5 PM. Shops, offices, food joints, hotels, warehouses and cold storage are open up to 4 PM. Religious places and weekly bazaars are closed till now but 10 people are permitted to participate in marriages and funerals. Pharmacies, hospitals and veterinary clinics are open 24 hours.

Wearing of masks is compulsory in public places. Shop owners must keep sanitiser outside the shops and only 5 people are allowed in a shop at a time.
Industrial units and Tea gardens may function subject to observance of Covid-19 appropriate behaviour. The head of the unit is responsible for making provisions for sanitization, social distancing, masking, sanitization, thermal screening. The operation of physical activities of Guwahati Tea Auction Centre including e-auction is allowed with 20% of the total workforce till 3 PM including tea tasting, sampling, brokering, warehousing is fully exempted.
Only 5 people are allowed to be present at the mosque to offer prayers for Eid, while others can do namaz from home. Excise authority will continue taking strong action against illegal production and sale of liquor in all the districts as a covid containment measure.
