New Covid updates from Assam

This news will brief our readers regarding the latest SOPs and the introduction of new facilities to help Covid patients.

Assam chief minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma today attended the 5th Cabinet Meeting at Janata Bhawan. The meeting started at 11 AM and ended by 1 PM. Five critical decisions were taken in the meeting.
An elaborate discussion was held regarding some changes of rules in the state during Covid 19.
The Assam Government has amended the rule of home isolation. The health minister Keshab Mahanta informed that the Covid 19 patient who lacks the facility of the separate(isolated) bathroom and bedrooms at their homes would not be allowed to take the provision of home isolation.
In the same meeting, Mahanta briefed that 14% of children below the age of 18 and 10% of children between the ages of 11 to 18 were infected with Covid 19.
Moreover, the decisions regarding HSLC, High Madrassa, HS Final examinations will be taken on June 18.

In the same meeting, Mahanta briefed that 14% of children below the age of 18 and 10% of children between the ages of 11 to 18 were infected with Covid 19.
Apart from that, the health minister reaches Hojai on June 15 at 10 PM to inspect the Covid situation in the city. He then presides over a meeting with senior police and administrative officials at the Deputy Commissioner's Office at Hojai. While addressing the media, the minister says that ICU Generation Plants will be installed in Jurapukhuri Government Hospital, coupled with 20 ICU beds for children. At 10.30 PM, Mahanta inaugurated the laboratory and pharmacy department at the hospital.
At the same event, Mahanta announced that Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Nagaon, Sonitpur to get complete lockdown as cases are still on the rise in those districts.
