Yoga has been a part of Indian society since the primitive age. It has a powerful technique to treat various illnesses at their bases and it has been proved that the regular practice of yoga makes the body fit to fight various illnesses.
Over the last few years there has been a realization and awareness among the people regarding the benefits of yoga. The Prime Minister of India, Sri Narendra Modi deserves the credit for conceptualizing the International Yoga Day on June 21. This day is observed throughout the world to create awareness among the people about yoga. The mega program "THE GUARDIAN RING" has been envisaged this year. This program celebrates the movement of the Sun, underlining the concept of ONE SUN-ONE EARTH. The Guardian Ring is a collaborative exercise among 79 countries along with the United Nations Organization to illustrate yoga's capacity to surpass national boundaries as the Sun apparently moves from East to West around the globe.
In this three-day fest, over 50 yoga experts from 100 institutions in India presented their papers in the yoga seminars and conducted yoga workshops for the students of MSSV.
This day long yoga day is being observed in almost each and every part of the world. But it is also important to note that, not only today but the entire month is observed as a month of awareness and yoga camps are being carried out in various parts of the country.
