Mother care: Breastfeeding room launched at Guwahati Press Club

It feels good to know that the people are trying to provide more and more amenities to the new moms to make life comfortable and easier for them

One of the biggest power in this world is the power to dream about achieving what you want. If there is a strong determination in the dreams, no one can stop us.
One it was a dream initiated by the female leaders at the forefront of Guwahati Press Club which turned into a reality today. The Guwahati Press Club is a very busy place which is visited by many women besides female journalist along with their babies who are still being breastfed.

Keeping this issue in mind, the vice-president of the press club, Mousumi Sarma Barua who is also a journalist, along with the other female members of the press club thought of approaching a leading hospital in the town.
It was on  Saturday that the dream of having a breastfeeding room at the press club premises came true.

The Health City Hospital, a private hospital based in the city, donated a breastfeeding room to the Guwahati Press Club.

The breastfeeding room was formally launched by the chief managing director of the hospital, Dr Bhabananda Das in the presence of senior cardiologist  Dr Susanta Barua and medicine specialist Dr Bhabani Chakravorty.

Apart from these medical professionals, singers Samar Hazarika and Dipen Barua were present at the event. 
Speaking at the event, Dr  Das said that it was a success for the hospital to have completed 1000 bypass surgeries in two years since its inception.

He mentioned that the hospital is equipped with some of the best technologies and has a strong team of good cardiologists and expert nurses.
Speaking to Fit Northeast, he said that they were more than happy to serve the busy journalists.  He further said that their hospital provides treatment to the journalists and their families at discounted rates.
A free health and heart check-up camp was also organized where experts and technicians examined the blood sugar, blood pressure and ECG of the journalist and other people present at the event.
