Model COVID Vaccination Centre Inaugurated at North Guwahati
LEHS| WISH has facilitated setting up of this Model COVID Vaccination Centre
A Model COVID Vaccination Centre, supported by LEHS (Lords Education & Health Society) - WISH (Wadhwani Initiative for Sustainable Healthcare) in collaboration with National Health Mission (NHM), Directorate of Health Services (Family Welfare), Government of Assam and District Health Society Kamrup was successfully inaugurated on 17 July 2021 at Saraighat High School, North Guwahati Assam.
The objective of this initiative is to mobilise community for accessing COVID-19 vaccine in an amiable environment and create awareness on COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
With intent to make the health facility more welcoming and increase vaccination, LEHS| WISH has facilitated setting up of this Model COVID Vaccination Centre by provisioning necessary hoardings, IEC materials, Leaflets, Posters, Banners on COVID-appropriate behaviour and vaccination, and by mobilizing community volunteer of NSS for supporting the health centre.
This Model COVID Vaccination Centre has provisions of necessary hoardings, IEC materials, Leaflets, Posters, Banners on COVID-appropriate behaviour and vaccination, and by mobilizing community volunteer of NSS for supporting the health centre.In his welcome note Raju Tamang, State Head of WISH Foundation informed that the Model Vaccination Centre is being strategically designed to give a boost to the aesthetic appearance of the health centre so that the beneficiaries feel at ease and enhance their knowledge about various COVID appropriate behaviour through IEC materials display.

In his inaugural address, Dr Guna GobindaSarma, Joint Director, Directorate of Health Services, Kamrup District, said "We have set up the Model CVC so that people can access all facilities and feel a good experience at the vaccination centre. All protocols are being maintained here so that beneficiaries don't leave the centre dissatisfied with the services. This centre is also an ideal platform to disseminate awareness on COVID appropriate behaviour."
Ms Smita Deka, District Program Manager, NHM Assam, enthralled by the set-up of the MVC informed that the MVC is beneficiary & service provider friendly and expected more sustained engagement of community in COVID-19 vaccination camps. The program was also attended by Dr A. J. Kalita, Senior Manager WISH Foundation.
