Mandaviya expresses concern to protect India from Covid
The Union Health Minister called for an emergency official meet to discuss the protection of the country
China is experiencing the worst Covid outbreak in the last 2 years. Within the last 42 hours, the country has witnessed more than 5,000 cases. This is creating a matter of immense fear among the 1.4 billion people. Lockdown has been imposed in several cities like Beijing, Shenzhen and Shanghai. Jilian is the worst hit with more than 3000 cases so far.
The Covid situation in China has also created an emergency situation among the senior health officials in India. In order to discuss the preventive measures, the Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya chaired a high-level meeting with the senior health officials of India.
On the page of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Mandaviya tweeted that India is unitedly fighting the Covid pandemic. India being a self-sufficient vaccine maker, is producing vaccines that are also being exported to other countriesOn the meeting held on Wednesday, the Union Health Minister has directed the officials for strict compliance in three aspects, which were a high level of alertness on the case rise, intensified surveillance of infection and aggressive genome sequencing. The meeting was attended by top doctors, the Health Secretary, Department of Biotechnology (DBT) Secretary, NCDC Chief and Drug Controller General of India.

On the page of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Mandaviya tweeted that India is unitedly fighting the Covid pandemic. India being a self-sufficient vaccine maker, is producing vaccines that are also being exported to other countries. As per data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 1,80,80,24,147 people have been vaccinated in the country to date. The vaccination of children from the age group of 12-14 has started yesterday.
