Kamrup (M) administration to launch door to door anti-Covid campaign in Guwahati

The senior authority of the district comes up with a first of its kind way to educate people and get them tested. Here is how it will be done

In order to create awareness among the people about Covid 19, the Kamrup (Metro) Deputy Commissioner on Thursday has come up with a new initiative.
Biswajit Pegu, the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro said that they will soon launch a door-to-door Covid -19 awareness campaign in Kamrup areas. During the campaign, they will also encourage the people to get tested.
Pegu said that this initiative will not only reach out to more people but also help in the early detection of Covid cases in the city. The aim of this intention is to reach out to the population that has been overlooked previously, with more emphasis on ramping voluntary and adherence to protocol.

In the densely populated area, there will be compulsory Covid testings. With the rapid antigen test, it will be easy to detect the lethal virus.

People above 50 years, if test positive will not be allowed to take home isolation and will be sent to hospitals.
It was also informed that there has been a dip in Covid cases in Kamrup Metro since the last few days.
On Thursday, a total number of 13,941 covid samples were collected, out of which 1,971 tested positive in Kamrup Metro.
