Just got operated? Feeling bored or anxious?

These are simple things that one can do to stay positive while recovering after a surgery

It is no hidden fact that the pressure, anxiety and stress that one goes through right before undergoing a surgery can be very debilitating. Sometimes failed surgeries can be life threatening. Ironically, some medical experts report that in their experience the patients sometimes experience heightened stress and anxiety even after undergoing a successful surgery.
Here are some simple things, which one can follow if they are recovering from a surgery or have/know a friend or a relative who is recovering from one.
An optimistic mind is really the first prerequisite for a stress free and speedy recovery. Remaining connected to friends and family also aids better recovery as apprehensions can be shared with them. Also needless to say, friends and relatives invariably provide invaluable help in terms of securing medicines, providing timely meals, taking the recovering patient for follow-up doctor visits and the other aspects of after care.
After a surgery, it is normal to suffer from minor pain since the wound takes time to heal and this must not be perceived as a major issue
Reading books, listening to music or simply watching television can be very relaxing in the days following the surgery. The idea is to distract the mind from pessimistic thoughts and paranoia.

After a surgery, it is normal to suffer from minor pain since the wound takes time to heal and this must not be perceived as a major issue. Eating healthy foods, drinking fresh fruit juices and a little meditation can go a long way towards relaxing our mind and aiding faster recovery.
In a nutshell, we must learn to take one step at a time and one day at a time with faith in the road to recovery.
