Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in collaboration with Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), has launched the "Achhi Aadat (Good Habit) Campaign" to raise awareness among school students about the importance of good hygiene practices.
The campaign is being conducted from Monday in 15 railway schools under NF Railway, including 10 railway schools of Assam " five in Guwahati and one each in Lumding, Badarpur, Mariani, New Tinsukia and Dibrugarh from Monday. It will conclude on February 25, 2022.
The objective of the campaign is to introduce a simple and practical approach to hygiene and sanitation-related issues by promoting handwashing, nail cleaning and other hygiene practices such as wearing masks in a correct way among school children," an official said.Image: The campaign launched in the school
Masks are being distributed among the school children free of cost. All necessary support is being provided by the railway authorities in this regard.
"During the campaign, the moderators from the JICA team are trying to inculcate 'Achhi Aadat' (good habits) and speak about the benefits of handwashing, nail hygiene, saving water, wearing masks and keeping physical distance," said an official.

Besides, during an hour-long awareness session, an animation film on correct washing is also being shown.

It may be mentioned that the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has launched the "Achhi Aadat Campaign" in India earlier this year, with the aim to raise awareness among 10 crore people, especially children, about the importance of hygiene practices for preventing the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases.
