India to get numerous Ayushman Bharat Health Centres soon

The Ayushman Bharat Programme is a new horizon in the health sector of India. Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWCs) were launched under the Ayushman Bharat Programme with an aim to move away from selective health care to a more comprehensive range of services spanning preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative care for all ages. The National Health Policy of 2017 envisioned these centres as the foundation of India's health system.
These centres deliver comprehensive health care services like maternal and child health, services to address communicable and non-communicable diseases and services for elderly and palliative care. AB-HWCs provide free essential medicines and diagnostic services, teleconsultation, and health promotion including wellness activities like Yoga.
Along with health and wellness, people have benefitted from services such as the e-Sanjeevani platform, online out-patient consultation services through telemedicine and teleconsultation.Member of Lok Sabha, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar took to her Twitter to express her gratitude towards Narendra Modi for making Ayushman Bharat Programme a grand success. On Friday, the Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya announced at the Rajya Sabha that the Government of India is setting up a target to set up 1.5 lakh health and wellness centres under the Ayushman Bharat Programme by the end of this year. It is to be stated that till date 1.22 lakh such centres have been set up across India.

Along with health and wellness, people have benefitted from services such as the e-Sanjeevani platform, online out-patient consultation services through telemedicine and teleconsultation. It was declared that on average, each of these centres will cater to 7000 to 8000 population and will have the facilities of 13 different kinds of testing and health screenings along with consultation.
