India creates historic records: 1 Billion people vaccinated
Having achieved a milestone, the Government plans to vaccinate the remaining population soon
A milestone in Medical history gets created after India completes the successful Covid-19 vaccination of one billion people on October 21.
Following this, the government wishes to vaccinate the remaining 944 million adults by the end of this year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the country on this historic milestone and called it " the triumph of Indian science, enterprise and collective spirit of 130 crore Indians".
He expressed gratitude to doctors, nurses, and all those who worked to achieve this feat.
The prime minister also visited the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi after the milestone was achieved and interacted with hospital officials.
Daily vaccine shots have averaged 5 million this month, a fifth of September's peak, though states are sitting on record stocks of more than 100 million as the domestic output of the AstraZeneca vaccine soars.He was accompanied by Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

As per government details, around three-quarters of adults in the country of 1.3 billion people have had one shot and around 30 per cent are fully vaccinated.
Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh are the top five states which have administered the highest number of doses.

Conveying a message to the public, Managing Director of National Health Mission(Assam), Dr Lakshmanan S said that it was a very prestigious day for everyone as India has crossed 100 crore vaccination against Covid 19 and Assam has also contributed significantly with 2.66 crore vaccinations so far.
This number includes 1.98 crores of first vaccine doses and 68 lakhs second dose vaccination. Dr Lakshmanan also thanked the Health and Family Welfare Department, the Government, the medical fraternity and all the Covid warriors.
