Importance of Mental Health and Physical Health

Having a positive mindset doesn't mean sitting straight and only thinking positively

Living a healthy lifestyle may seem like a challenge, but what if it is not? Positive thinking is something we should try to adopt, and during trying times like this, we will need it more than ever. Physical hygiene alone is not enough if we cannot conquer our own minds. The fear that we instill in ourselves without ever realizing about our mental health issues can be defeating.
Being careful rather than being paranoid can deeply impact our everyday life positively especially during trying times. Having a positive mindset doesn't mean sitting straight and only thinking positively. We need to put it into practice and by practice; it requires both physical and mental ability. Outdoor exercise is another way of coping with all the negative thoughts hovering above our heads. It makes us concentrate more on the things we do, rather than staying idle and worried.
Dr Stephenson who is a naturopath and also the founder of ARTAH said, "Think of your health as a system of interconnected biological networks rather than isolated silos". If you ever have days when you just want to stay in bed and shut yourself away from the world, this is when mental health can affect your physical health.

During times like this, we must follow every protocol since it is for our own good. However, humans being social animals, there is no denying the fact that we cannot isolate ourselves away from everyone. Social distancing can be a lifesaver, but if we lock ourselves in our own homes, depression and anxiety will creep into our own minds. We may feel unwanted, and before ever doing anything, our anxious minds will eventually make us give up. Therefore, even if we isolate ourselves from others for our own good, keeping in touch with families and friends online will always benefit our mental health.

Positivity is all that matters to boost our immunity and lead a healthy life. But, we must be a doer because time is of the essence and those that do not value it cannot reap the harvest of positive and healthy living. The importance of carrying on hobbies and interests is essential, yet much more essential when struck with a pandemic. It is because the mind gets irritated and bored quickly for most people which leads to doing unpleasant things.
Keeping ourselves busy, having faith even if we follow a religion or not, will keep us alive during our darkest times. Therefore, when we have positive thoughts, it gives us the zeal to do more better things. Whether it be eating healthy, living healthy or helping another person in need, the only way to boost our immunity is to have a positive mind and do the positive things that will make us immune to diseases or negative thoughts. Also, consuming broccoli, sweet potatoes, turmeric, spinach, ginger, lemon etc can boost your immune system and can go a long way in expanding one's life expectancy.
