"Har Ghar Dastak" campaign gains momentum in Assam

A united effort by frontline-health workers and government officials makes the dream of maximum vaccination come true

Launched on November 3, the 'Har Ghar Dastak' campaign aims at an awareness, mobilisation and vaccination of all eligible beneficiaries through house-to-house visits in all states and Union territories.
The Centre's 'Har Ghar Dastak' campaign for door-to-door Covid vaccination has led to a 5.9 % rise in the first dose coverage and an 11.7% hike in the second dose coverage till November 30 ac,  said Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan on Thursday.
Reviewing the progress made under the campaign with the health secretaries and NHM Mission Directors of states and Union Territories via video conference, he appreciated their performance during the drive.

Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta on November 29, visited the Koliabor district to motivate the public to take vaccination under the 'Har Ghar Dastak Campaign'. Several senior officials have put their cent per cent efforts to make this vaccination campaign successful throughout Assam.

The ASHA and Anganwadi workers have defeated every challenge to vaccinate the population. As per news from the National Health Mission of Assam, a team of three consisting of Anna Roselin Topno (ANM), Mrs Maini Saikia Baruah (ASHA) and Mrs Bina Pani Phukan Saikia (Block Development Officer) Anganwadi Worker crossed the Dhansiri River to reach the remote village of Sonarichapori Gaon from Khumtai.
The dedicated team travelled 2 kilometres by foot to reach the interior village. The team successfully completed a cent per cent vaccination in that village.
Similarly in Kokrajhar district, with the united efforts of the health worker and block accounts manager, a woman of 90 plus age was vaccinated.

Health officials visited every household in Moran, Charaideo District and Domordolong area and urged them to get vaccinated.
Today the team visited the area of Bamunjuli and Khoirabari at Udalguri districts.
