The health ministry announces the price of vaccines in India
Regarding the prices of vaccines, the Government has set the maximum price that can be charged by private hospitals while providing the vaccination.
The per-dose price of Covishield has been fixed at Rs 780, whereas Covaxin and Sputnik V have been settled at Rs1410 and Rs 1145, respectively.
In a letter to the states and union territories, the Health Ministry has mentioned that strict action will be taken against the hospitals if they overcharge the people.
The ministry added that private hospitals might charge up to Rs 150 per dose as service tax. The state government will monitor the price that would be charged.
The minister even requested the states to ensure that the prices declared by the various private CVCs do not exceed the amount.
