Eat Healthy, Stay Healthy: Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb

The minister took part in the mela that was recently organized as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Awareness on the nutritional values of food is important for a healthy lifestyle said Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb at an event in Agartala.
He said, nutritious foods keep our body fit. So, it is important to check the ratio of protein, vitamins and other ingredients before having packaged foods.
While encouraging the people to eat healthy for staying fit and healthy, the Chief Minister emphasized on raising awareness on the nutritional values of food up to the last person in the society.
He was addressing an 'Eat Right Mela' organized by the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India in collaboration with the Health and Family Welfare department. The mela was recently organized as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration at Egiye Chala Sangha premises in Agartala.
Deb inspected various food stalls opened in the mela and also distributed prizes among the winners of sit and draw competition and Healthy Recipe Competition
Most of the times, people start saving money for bright future of their children but they don't really care if the children are getting sufficient nutrition. In this context, Deb said, a child need to get nutritious foods since birth to grow healthy and strong-- it would reduce the risk of malnutrition.

Addressing the participants, the Chief Minister said, everyone should maintain a balanced diet. In that case, he advised the people to check online.

Principal Secretary of Health department J. K. Sinha and Deputy Director of Food Safety and Standard Authority of India- Partha Das Mahapatra also spoke on the occasion.
The welcome speech was delivered by Director of Family Welfare & Preventive Medicine- Dr. Radha Debbarma while the vote of thanks was delivered by Deputy Food Safety Commissioner Dr. Anuradha Majumdar.
