Cyclist Vizotuo Keditsu from Dimapur in an interview with Fit Northeast
Exercise is the key to a healthy body. A person requires regular physical exercises to keep the body and the mind active and healthy. Cycling is one such enlivening exercise.
In an interview with this writer, Vizotuo Keditsu, a lone cyclist from Dimapur spoke highly about cycling and its impact on health. Since 2017, this young man has been riding regularly for health benefit and also this being his hobby. He rides on a regular basis for three or more hours a day covering a distance of 30/40 km.
He said that though cycling had been his hobby he doesn't have any group as such. He is a lone rider who is sometimes accompanied by his friends. Unlike gym-based exercises, cycling moves us around to places and is less expensive.
"For me, the main reason behind cycling is to stay fit and also explore new places with minimum expenses," said Keditsu. Here are some health benefits as exhibited by this lone cyclist from his personal experience:
• Weight loss
• Increases stamina
• Strengthens leg muscles
• Improves sleeping
• Reduces boredom
• relax our mind
• Gives positive vibes and reduces stress.

Idleness and struggle to overcome boredom have been the heated topic in this pandemic. Cycling can be the best remedy to tackle such odds.

We must also learn to take the positive sides of the odds of life as Keditsu said, "This pandemic has given me more time for cycling, it has also refreshed my mind. The most interesting part of cycling during this pandemic is less traffic and less pollution."
Being somewhat restrained from office work, many are bound to remain at home idle and bored. But the experience of this young man shows that we can take this challenge to our own level to ease ourselves from various odds in life.
At the end, Keditsu leaves a message to his audience, "It's never too late to start anything; ride and explore the beauty of nature. Never give up."
