After a study conducted on police personnel in Punjab, the government on Friday said that both the doses of the Covid vaccine provides 98 per cent protection from death due to the disease, while only one dose may give 92 per cent shield.
The study was done by the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh in collaboration with the Punjab Government. By sharing the data of the study, Niti Aayog Member Dr VK Paul said that 4868 police personnel were not vaccinated and out of them 15 police personnel died due to Covid-19, which comes down to 3.08 incidence per thousand.
Paul said that the police personnel fall in the high-risk category and from this study it is proven that one dose gives 92 per cent protection while the second dose gives 98 per cent protection.During a press conference he mentioned that out of 35856 police personnel who were vaccinated with one dose, nine died and out of 42720, who received both doses, two died.

Such studies and findings show that vaccination eliminates serious death and diseases, so it is necessary to have faith in vaccination and receive it as soon as possible.
