Covid cases found in 6 more students in a local college in Guwahati

As a number of passengers flew from abroad, the chances and fear of Omicron increases among the people

Six students and a teacher from Dispur College in Guwahati have been diagnosed with Covid-19. It was on December 14, when 1 student of B.Baruah was diagnosed with Covid-19.
A total of 20 students from Gauhati University and six students from B Barooah College also tested positive for Covid recently. The Director of Student's Welfare informed Fit Northeast that initially 10 boys of one hostel of the Law Department tested positive then, later more than 10 students tested positive during check-up by the team of the health department. Following the Covid cases in the Gauhati University, the university campus was closed for a week.

In the last 42 hours two international passengers, a woman coming from London and a man traveling from Qatar have tested positive for Covid-19 in Guwahati.

As per reports by Health and Family Welfare Department, the Assam government and the National Health Mission, a total of 3,56,84,757 people have been vaccinated till December 15. The recovery rate in the state stands at 98.6%.
