Following Covid-19 precautionary norms and avoiding crowded places is the need of the hour, experts opined in a Webinar organised by Press Information Bureau, Guwahati on the topic "Covid-19 Vaccination for Adults and the challenges for its efficacious output" at Guwahati on 20 July 2021. Experts from Medical fraternity, Government sector along with academicians deliberated and discussed about the potential way to tackle emergent Covid-19 scenario from medical and policy perspective.
Padma Shri Naresh Chander Lal, Ambassador Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Andamaan and Nicobar Islands said that as part of the nationwide vaccination drive, Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs with COVID Vaccines free of cost. He added that in the fresh phase of the universalization of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the Union Government is going to procure and supply (free of cost) 75 percent of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs.
Also joining in the discussion, Dr. Amit Bhattacharyya, MBBS, MD(Internal Medicine), former Joint Director(Medical and Health Services), Steel Authority of India said that following the guidelines and rules of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is of paramount importance to guide the citizenry in the proper direction to tackle the Covid-19 scenario.

Welcoming PIB Guwahati initiative on organising a webinar on its topic of vital essence, Dr. Manzoor Ahmad, MS(Surgery), ZVM Unani Medical College and Hospital, Pune said that the Covid-19 precautionary behaviour to tackle the disease should be of paramount importance and the need of the hour. He said that frequent washing of hands with the usage of sanitizers and avoiding crowded places such as markets, retail shops, bus stops and railway stations is very essential. He said that Covid-19 scenario could be tackled with positive bend of mind and with optimism, the negative effect on psychology can be warded off.
Appreciating PIB Guwahati for arranging a Webinar on ways to tackle Covid and discussing on the utility and vaccination process, Ms Prachi Rathi, a Psychologist said that youth are the ambassadors of change for public and societal awareness. She said that they communicate and carry forward the message of Covid vaccination and its positive effects. She delved on various issues related to Covid-19 Vaccination for Adults and the challenges for its efficacious output.

The galaxy of dignitaries also included Shri Nagendra Nath Tiwari, Deputy Technical Adviser, Food and Nutrition Board, Eastern Region, Kolkata, who emphasised that Covid could be tackled with a healthy system and proper healthy diet. He said that with a caring attitude, the problems of women, children and elderly parents in the family should be listened and attended to. He said that nutritious food with proper intake of food at regular intervals could provide the necessary strength to develop a healthy system.
Prof(Dr.) Mohd Arif Khan, Senior Assistant Professor, Dept. of Social Work, Aligarh Muslim University said that involving all the players in the value chain of medical and Covid-19 treatment in decision making process is a healthy initiative to tackle Covid related issues.
Talking in detail about the related aspects of Indian Constitution, Shri Sanyuk Banerjee, Advocate, Purbo Bardhamaan and Abdur Rahman Mallick, Advocate, Delhi High Court said that leading a healthy life is quintessential for success in any endeavour of an individual. They said that prominent and emergent issues related to health have to be provided adequate importance so that it is tackled in an effective and efficient manner.

The entire webinar was planned and coordinated by Shri Samrat Bandyopadhyay, Joint Director (M & C), PIB, Guwahati. Senior officers of PIB and Regional Outreach Bureau of North East Government offices were present in webinar. The webinar delved into details on varied aspects of the topic such as health infrastructure, training, motivation to medical fraternity including doctors and staffs. The interactive Webinar has enthusiastic participation of students, academicians and sports fraternity of Assam and North East Region as they said that this information cum knowledge Webinar was informative at the same time helped them in decision making.
Along with students, eminent journalists and other government senior officials from Doordarshan Guwahati, Regional Outreach Bureau, Guwahati, All India Radio Guwahati were also present on the occasion.
