Sikkim Roads and Bridges minister Samdup Lepcha recently launched a PSA Oxygen Plant, which was provided by the Centre under PM Cares Fund at the at District Hospital at Megan.
Addressing the programme, the minister extended his gratitude to the Sikkim Chief Minister with whose goodwill and effort this Oxygen plant was established at Mangan to cater to the public of North District.
At the same event, Lepcha lauded the effort of the team involved in the process of installation of the new oxygen plant. The Minister also acknowledged the relentless effort of the Covid warriors headed by DC, North for smooth functioning and handling the pandemic with minimum cases and fewer casualties.
He said that the Government has given topmost priority to the health sector and efforts are on to make the health care system in Sikkim the best in the country.
Addressing the programme, the minister extended his gratitude to the Chief Minister of the Sikkim with whose goodwill and effort this Oxygen plant was established at Mangan to cater to the public of North District.Further, the Minister appealed to the contractor of the New District Hospital, Mangan to execute the work for early completion.
The Chairman of Sikkim Welfare Commission, Nim Tshering Lepcha said that the oxygen plant in the district hospital is yet another milestone achieved by the state in terms of strengthening its health infrastructure.
Speaking on the occasion, DC(North), Tenzing T Kaleon informed that the oxygen plant in North Sikkim was set up in one month. He acknowledged the effort of the team involved in the process of installation of the new oxygen plant.
District Medical Superintendent (North), Rinzing Doma Bhutia in her welcome address highlighted the technical aspects of the Oxygen plant and gave brief data on Covid cases in the district. She informed that 32,009 (1st dose) and 15,590 (2nd dose) of the Covid-19 vaccine have been administered to the people of North District till that date.
