Covid-19: Mizoram issues special guidelines for Aizawl

On one hand, Mizoram gets some relaxation and on the other hand, Nagaland receives permission to celebrate puja

In order to ease the economy and some other activities in the Aizwal Municipality Corporation area and some other parts of the state, the Mizoram Government has issued new guidelines with some more relaxation.
The new guideline will be in force from October 3 to 16.
Providing better treatment to Covid-19 patients has been set as a top priority of the state government.
The new order allows the re-opening of churches in areas in the Covid affected areas of the AMC locality only on Saturdays and Sundays with 50% capacity. Whereas churches in Covid-free areas will continue to remain open as it was since August 22.
An order issued by the Principal Secretary, Abhijit Sinha said that people can visit the puja pandals from 5 AM to 9 PM.
Similarly, the educational institutes in the AMC area will remain closed but institutions in the other areas will have the relaxation to be opened with 50% attendance. Schools and Anganwadi centres will remain open in the Covid-free areas.

Programs or gatherings like birthdays, funerals, weddings can have the presence of 50 people only. Restaurants and hotels are allowed to permit their business with 50% of the accommodation capacity, whereas business houses, markets and hawkers are advised to re-start their work as earlier.
All the government offices to have full attendance from now onwards. There will be a night curfew from 8 PM to 4 AM.
Apart from Mizoram, Nagaland also gets a green signal from the government to observe durga puja.
An order issued by the Principal Secretary, Abhijit Sinha said that people can visit the puja pandals from 5 AM to 9 PM. Every puja committee has been strictly notified to monitor if Covod norms are followed or not along with making facilities for thermal screening, hand-washing and sanitizing. De-sanitization of the pandals will be done every 6 hours and people above the age group of 66 and pregnant women are requested to stay back at home.
