With the united efforts of the state governments, health departments and frontline workers, Assam has been successful in administering the first dose of Covid-19 vaccines among the people of the state.
The State government organizeded a two day "Mass Vaccination Program" on Friday and Saturday.
The main objective behind organizing these mass vaccination camps is to create awareness among the people regarding the benefits and protective properties of the vaccination.
The "Har Ghar Dastak" campaign acquired immense popularity and support from the people. It has played a vital role in the vaccination of people in remote areas, especially in rural areas.
In conversation with the senior management authorities out there, we were informed that till date, a total of more than 90,000 people have taken their vaccination in that particular centre.To learn more about the recent vaccination drive, Fit Northeast visited the nearest Covid Vaccination Centre set up within the premises of the State Capital Dispensary at Last Gate area in Guwahati.
According to a senior health official, till date more than 90,000 people have taken their vaccination in that particular centre. Till 12 noon on 10 December 2021, a total of 103 people took their vaccines.
He said that the people have become more aware of the alarming Covid situations in the country. The number of people who come for testings has also increased. More than 200 people arrive at this particular centre for testing, the official said.
As per records published by the National Health Mission, the total number of vaccinated people from Assam has reached a figure of 3,49,93,210. Some among this figure have taken their first and some have taken their second doses.
The current positivity rate in the state is 0.45%.
