Covid-19: Assam Government introduces new SOP for vaccination

New SOP makes it mandatory to get Covid test done prior to vaccination. Along with it, strict orders have been made towards the centres to make the vaccination process smooth

The Assam Government has issued new guidelines regarding the pre-vaccination process.
As per the SOP, it is mandatory for the person to undergo a Covid test prior to the vaccination. Anyone who  tested Covid positive will not be vaccinated.
Apart from direction regarding the vaccination, special guidelines have been issued for the centres providing the vaccines.
The room where vaccination is to be done should be well ventilated and spacious to avoid overcrowding and maintain social distancing.
It has been strictly ordered that vaccination centres should have a minimum of three rooms. One will be the waiting room and the other two will be the vaccination and observation rooms respectively.
It is compulsory for all the vaccination centres to have availability of adequate sitting arrangement, drinking water and hygienic toilets.
People who are an employee at the bank, transport, municipality corporation, petrol pumps, field staff of railway and airlines will be given priority.
As per the SOP, 200 people can be vaccinated per day. As per demands, more than one team can be engaged for vaccination.

The beneficiaries can come for vaccination after taking online slot booking or walk-in for slot registration.
People who are an employee at the bank, transport, municipality corporation, petrol pumps, field staff of railway and airlines will be given priority.
This priority list will further include people serving in any other kinds of essential services.
The SOP instructs that at a time only ten-person can stand in the line after taking their tokens for vaccination. Others must remain seated and patiently wait for their turn.
Moreover, senior citizen, lactating mothers or person with special abilities will be given preferences.
