Chief Minister meets medical officials
To bring a positive phase towards the medical scene of the state, Assam Chief Minister meets medical professionals
In order to discuss several issues relating to doctor's security and welfare, a delegation of the Assam State Branch of Indian Medical Association met Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma at his Janata Bhavan office yesterday.
Dr Satyajit Bora, who led the delegation, thanked Sarma for taking prompt action for promoting justice to Dr Seuj Senapati.
A memorandum containing nine demands was handed over to the minister. Sarma promised the fulfilment of the demands and said that the state government would take care of every doctor's safety.
In order to give recognition to dedicated medical professionals, the delegates requested the minister institute an award in the memory of Dr Bhubaneswar Barooah.

A cheque of Rs 1 lakh was further handed over to the Sarma as a contribution to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
Before the meeting with the delegation, Sarma visited Dr Seuj Senapati at the hospital and had a conversation with him along with his family members.
As per a statement given after meeting Dr Senapati, Sarma said that he was firmly standing with Senapati and his family and promised to bring justice to Dr Senapati while further ensuring the safety of each doctor.
