NEIOM (Northeastern Indian Overseas Market) organized and hosted a Northeast India Buyer-Seller Meet at the Hotel Lily recently.
The event was attended by multiple indigenous Agri-Entrepreneurs & Artisans, producers, and manufacturers from the Northeastern states and distinguished NE Govt bodies, and got an exclusive platform to directly interact with the buyers from Japan.
During this meet, the sellers showcased their products along with the value propositions of the North Eastern products. The overall event was very interactive, wherein the sellers and the Govt authorities had the opportunity to clarify and understand the overall opportunity for the Northeast Natural products overseas.
This meet will help enable & empower the NE producers to export the unique products & culture to international markets, starting from Japan. Vijay Sahrawat, Founder & CEO of KAS Japan, who travelled all the way from Tokyo, Japan for this event, was the chief guest and speaker, shared international market visibility with the attendees.
Sahrawat in his speech emphasized the importance of naturally grown products, being healthy and immunity booster. He also emphasized that it is equally important to take care of the plants as they give us the final product.

Wherein as stepping stone launching a digital platform, including the 'Digital Catalogue of the Northeastern states' to built awareness regarding the Geographical coverage, Demography, People, culture, history and Products available with the indigenous farmers, sellers and entrepreneurship from the Northeast region.
NEIOM and KAS Japan in collaboration will be promoting and creating opportunities for the Northeastern producers in the International market, starting from Japan.
Speaking about the production of Tea itself in the Northeastern region, Sahrawat mentioned that the tea has multiple health benefits and an extremely beneficial nature's blessings; which helps reduce the chances of dementia and spread the knowledge that tea in its original form is the one which is taken without milk and sugar.
This event was joined by various sellers from the Northeastern states who showcased their products from the NE region; including tea, spices and others. Senior government officials from NERAMAC (North Eastern Regional Marketing Corporation), APEDA (The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority), Spice Board, IIE were present at the event.
The founder of NEIOM, Sijo Jacob added that NEIOM is an export-oriented initiative, which focuses on bringing up "Northeast "specific" quality products to the international market. "
As a part of this initiative, we aim to bring international clients to Northeast and introduce our natural resources, farmers(the producers) and highlight the Northeast's unique products to the international buyers", added Jacob.
