Beijing witnesses a rise in cases of Coronavirus
After more than 20 cases reported in the last month, the senior officials in various government department have issued precautionary orders
Restrictions have been imposed in Beijing in China as the number of Covid-19 cases tends to rise. The outbreak is becoming serious as it has already engulfed 16 municipalities, provinces and autonomous regions.
Strict orders have been issued by the Beijing Health Commission requesting the people to postpone all the trips except those which are extremely unavoidable.
The health officials are visiting every household and residential complex to track the travel records of every person. Along with the Beijing Health Commission, the city government has also urged the people to stay inside their houses as far as possible.
It is to be noted that Beijing will be hosting the Winter Olympics in February, 2022 for which many international athletes will come. 92 cases were reported by China's National Health Commission.Even though more than 20 cases were reported last month, it was news of relief that there was no case of transmission last Sunday. As per details from the aviation industry data, about half the flights to and from Beijing city's two airports were cancelled on Tuesday.

China has still not uplifted the ban on the entry of travellers from India and other South-Asian countries as a part of the Zero-Covid policy despite criticism that coronavirus has now turned endemic.
