Ayush Ministry educates children about Aloevera

Dietician Dr Dharini Krishnan says that aloe vera is rich in antioxidants and is good for use during the summers

The Ministry of Ayush has now taken up the step to educate the children regarding the benefits of aloe vera.
It has published a message which questions the children regarding their knowledge about the aloe vera plant and its good effects.

Aloe vera is an evergreen perennial which originates from the Arabian Peninsula but grows wild in tropical, semi-tropical, and arid climates around the world. It is cultivated for commercial products, mainly as a topical treatment used over centuries.

In almost every household, Aloe vera is commonly used in traditional medicine to treat skin disorders. In Ayurvedic medicine, rooted in ancient Indian practices, it is said to have a cooling effect that balances aggravations of the pitta dosha.

According to Chennai-based consultant dietician Dr Dharini Krishnan, aloe vera is "full of antioxidants." It's especially good for the summer since this is the season when the body is prone to infections, according to Krishnan. She adds that when consumed, aloe vera has the potential to cool the system.
