Avoid harmful foods for a healthy liver

Two major functions of a liver are to digest the food consumed and filter toxins from the body.

The human organs play a vital role not just in keeping the body fit and strong but it also maintains the flow of blood digests food and purify the blood as well. One such organ is the liver. The role or function of a liver is to filter the blood coming from the digestive tract before passing it to the rest of the body. However, there are a lot of things that can damage our liver, things which we take for granted. Below are some of the things we should be aware of.
Vitamin A is essential for our body and it is fine if we obtain it from fresh fruits and vegetables, especially those that are red, yellow and orange. But if vitamin A is obtained by taking supplements that contains high doses, it can prove fatal for our liver.
Packaged foods and baked goods contain Trans fat which are man-made. We are likely to gain more weight if we consume diets which are high in Trans fat and it is not good for the liver.
Most of us are aware that drinking too much alcohol can affect the liver. But it doesn't matter if we drink little or more, alcohol in general harms the liver and continuous drinking can turn you into an alcoholic.
Consuming lots of sweet things is bad for our teeth. But, too much sugar isn't just bad for our teeth but it can harm our liver too. Fat is produced by the liver through fructose which is one type of sugar.
Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is caused by drinking lots of soft drinks. This can be due to the amount of sugar in the drink or sodas.

However, consuming too much of refined sugar and corn syrup containing high fructose can turn a healthy liver into a fatty one.
Acetaminophen is found in pain relievers. Whenever we have a backache, headache or cold, we consume pain relievers. But, consuming too much of pain relievers containing Acetaminophen can harm the liver, causing permanent damage.
Sharing of needles which is common among drug users can cause Hepatitis C which is a liver disease. Once a person acquires Hepatitis C, there are no symptoms involved and it can kill the person instantly since medical help would be too late.
Every Herbal supplement have a label that reads, "natural". But even if it is natural, it may be harmful for you. There are some herbs which when consumed prevents the liver from working right. Therefore, before consuming any herbal supplement, check the ingredients first since it can go a long way in letting your liver stay healthy.
