Assam makes 7-day quarantine mandatory for international traveller

Strict watch is being kept over every international travellers in order to restrict the spread of Omicron

Omicron has rapidly spread to many countries over the world but researchers from various parts of the world say that it is not fatal but has the capacity to multiply or spread rapidly. Precautions are being taken in every nook and corner of the world to restrict the spread of this variant.
The Assam Government has issued some rules for those who return from abroad through international flights. The new SOP states that every international traveller must undergo strict quarantine of 7 days even if he or she tests negative.
The travellers can opt for home quarantine during this period. Every traveller has to go through RT PCR except for children below the age of 5.
Assam Health Minister added that after the centre has issued an SOP to limit the cases (or stop the spread) of Omicron, even we thought of coming out with a new SOP to help the people deal with this situation of fear of Omicron.
The rule has been made even stricter keeping the fear of Omicron in mind.

It was added that in Assam the 'Har Ghar Dastak', the Covid-19 vaccination campaign gained wide acceptance and many of the villages in Assam has been fully vaccinated with the double doses.
It has been the result of the continuous efforts by the state chief minister, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and his folk of ministers, that the state is again gearing up for a mega vaccination camp for the 2nd doses of Covid-19 vaccination on the 10th and 11th of December,2021 at every Covid vaccination centre.
