Assam host Comprehensive Educational Conclave in Guwahati

The Assam Education Minister said that the education system in Assam soon to witness various significant changes

The academic advisor of the education department, Dr Noni Gopal Mahanta said that Guwahati will soon be hosting the first of its kind, a Comprehensive Educational Conclave at the Cotton University where several dignitaries from the field of education will be a part of this conclave.
The program will also have several speakers, namely Dr Ranjan Arora (senior professor at NCERT), Prof. Anil Dattatraya Sahasrabudhe (Chairman at All India Council of Technical Education), Dr Bhushan Patwardhan (former Vice-Chairman of UGC), Prof. Rajnish Jain (Secretary, UGC).
According to Dr Mahanta, various confusions regarding the Indian education system will get cleared at the conclave.
The sectors of confusion include questions relating to the multi-disciplinary, bilateral aspect of the education system, issues relating to the future of technical education in the state.
More than 300 delegates from all over India will be a part of this conclave. Another important thing that was mentioned by the educationalist was that very soon the differentiation between the streams of Arts, Commerce and Science will disappear.
Students can now pursue their post-graduation education at their colleges itself from where they did their bachelor's degree.
While addressing the media at the same press meet, Assam education minister, Dr Ronuj Pegu said that the education system in Assam will very soon go through significant changes.

The National Educational Policy will be active in Assam from 2022-2023, under which several changes will be made. As per the new regulation, there will be no separate sections termed 'Higher Secondary' (HS) which included classes 11 and 12. Classes 1 to 8 will fall under the section of elementary section of education and classes 9 to 12 will be categorized under the secondary section of education.
Students can now pursue their post-graduation education at their colleges themselves from where they did their bachelor's degree.
Discussions are going on among the education department, department of Social Welfare and the ASHA workers as to where to co-terminate or co-locate the process of the pre-primary education system of the children going to the playschool or kindergartens.
United attempts will be made by the departments to completely utilize these schemes by the end of 2023.
