Assam govt issues fresh SOP on Covid-19 restrictions

The Assam Government on Monday issued a fresh SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) with certain modifications.
The Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) in a notification said districts with high positivity rate will be under close watch. 
"Districts where the total number of cumulative cases and per day cases are still showing persistently high numbers, especially Cachar, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sonitpur and Nagaon will be under close watch. In case there is no improvement in the COVID status in these districts, stricter restrictions may follow," the new SOPs read. 
"In case the test positivity of COVID-19 in any area reaches 5% or more in case of urban areas and 10% or more in case of rural areas in the last one week, District Magistrate will notify such areas as containment zone and ensure necessary containment measures for COVID-19," the new SOPs further read. 
Meanwhile, curfew in Kamrup-Metro district will continue to get enforced every day at 2pm and will continue till 5 in the morning next day. 
Viewing all these situations, the Disaster Management Authority has issued an SOP according to which containment zones will be declared in particular areas where cases rise over 5%.
"There shall be total ban on movement of individuals from 2PM to 5AM daily in Kamrup Metropolitan district considering the decreasing trend of COVID-19 cases including decrease in the daily case load," the new SOP read.

Meanwhile, in districts where the COVID-19 situation has improved in the last few days, restrictions have been relaxed. 
"In the districts viz. South Salmara, Majuli, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Udalguri, West Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao and Charaideo where the positive cases are showing less than 400 cumulatively in last 10 days, the lockdown like conditions are here by relaxed and movement of individuals will be allowed from 5AM to 5PM daily," the SOP added. 
Meanwhile, shops in Kamrup-Metro district will continue to remain open till 1 pm every day.
