Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has made an appeal to the doctors of the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) to stop practicing at private nursing homes.

Dr Sarma also stressed the services rendered to the patients by the hospital.
He further said that one of the oldest hospitals in Guwahati, Mahendra Mohan Choudhury College and Hospital was soon going to be shut down and a new super-specialty block was coming up within the premises of the GMCH. Image: A building of the GMCH
The super-specialty block which will be officially inaugurated in February 2022 was being used to treat the Covid patients and is fully equipped with ICU and all the other important medical facilities.
