Assam: 22 students test positive for Covid-19 in Sivasagar school

Prompt action was taken by the health department after two teachers were tested positive for Covid

Panic prevails in upper Assam's Sivasagar district after 22 students of a single school tested positive for Covid-19.
As per reports exams were going on in Amguri Dikshow Senior Secondary School in Sivasagar district where two teachers were initially infected. An immediate test was conducted on 15 other teachers in the same school.
The health authorities informed that the Sub-Divisional Medical Officer of that designated area has made provisions to get the students tested.
After the news of the teachers having been infected by Covid-19 spread, the medical authorities planned to carry out test among 92 students in the school. Till today afternoon, 40 samples were collected and tested among which 10 were found out to be positive.

The health authorities informed that the Sub-Divisional Medical Officer of that designated area has made provisions to get the students tested. The concerned health authorities urged the Assam Government to make provisions for the vaccination for children below 18 years.
Separate isolation rooms have been set up for the Covid positive students from where they can appear for their exams which were scheduled to start from November 13. The students who are Covid negative will have to appear in the examination in the offline mode.
