Arunachal Targets 100 per cent Vaccination: Libang

Libang made a fervent plea to the masses to strictly adhere to Covid appropriate behavior

Expressing concern over rising cases of Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, Health & Family Welfare Minister Alo Libang said that his department has adopted innovative methods for Covid management to check the rising trend.
In an interview with Fit Northeast, Mr Libang said that though the killer virus has infected 39,817 people and killed 198 in the State the medical fraternity, including health care workers (HCWs) and other frontline workers (FLWs) has been able to help in curing 35,910 persons till 8 pm on 11 July 2021.
Libang made a fervent plea to the masses to strictly adhere to Covid appropriate behavior, especially the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and to willingly come forward to join the fight to prevent spread of the virus and defeat it.

The vaccination drive launched in 16 January 2021 is carried out across the State and those left out should come forward to get two doses as vaccine is an effective way to prevent serious illness. "The State government targets 100 per cent vaccination", he informed.

State immunization officer Dr D Padung informed that 6,03,563 persons have been given single does while 1,19,830 persons have received both doses. Till date 7,23,338 doses have been administered covering 82 per cent frontline workers including healthcare personal. At present 1,63,120 doses (1,44.350 given by Central Government and 470 doses procured by State Government) are available to continue the drive, he added.
