Apollo Hospital comes up with a unique initiative
The hospital makes an effort to help all those people go through a comfortable and healthy stay during their isolation
Apollo Hospitals Guwahati has come up with a great initiative to help people infected with COVID who are asymptomatic and need only isolation (except in their homes).
Speaking to the authorities of the Apollo Hospitals Guwahati which is a part of the pioneer hospital chain, Fit Northeast came to know that Apollo Hospital is the first hospital that has been granted permission for 'Hotel Isolation' by the Government of Assam after COVID reached Assam.
It was during that time when there was a shortage of beds across the hospitals. This service was offered to those who were asymptomatic or had very mild symptoms. These people wanted medical supervision, observation and not necessarily hospitalization.
This initiative was started by the Apollo Hospitals Group pan India under which a corporate tie-up was set up between Ginger Hotel Group and Apollo Hospitals were medically supervised hotel isolation started at the spots where Ginger hotel and Apollo hospitals were located. There is a nursing team along with a doctor stationed at the hotel. These doctors are the medical offices.
The patients stay in the hospital for up to 5-7 days and then they are tested. If they respond negatively, their discharge is applied to the Government and accordingly and they are sent to their homesThe patients are admitted after going through a health screening. The nurses available there give around twice a day, once in the morning and in the evening and check the vitals and saturations of the patients. Moreover, an individual set of oximeter, thermometer and other necessities are provided to the patients.

The patients stay in the hospital for up to 5-7 days and then they are tested. If they respond negatively, their discharge is applied to the Government and accordingly and they are sent to their homes.
This initiative was also carried out during the First & Second wave of COVID and more than 300 patients got successfully treated and discharged only accept a few during the second wave who was transferred to the hospital for better medical care.
It was added that there is an emergency ambulance service available at the hotels to shift the people to the hospital immediately in case of any emergency.
