A special task force to keep track of your hospital bills

In the last few months, there have been incidents of hospitals charging an immense amount in the name of Covid treatment. These practices will now be questioned.

The State Health Department has instructed the districts to form some task forces. The work of these task forces will be the monitoring of the price the hospitals charge from the patients for Covid treatment.
The rates to be charged from the patients have already been determined by the State government.
Under the Clinical Act,2010, the Deputy Commissioner as the Chairperson of District Health Society and the Chairperson of District Registering Act are given charges to monitor and supervise all the clinical establishments in the respective districts.
It has strictly instructed by the DCs to constitute a task force to smoothly and effectively execute the orders.
The members of the task force will have interactions with the family members of the patients. They will also be verifying the bills from the hospitals.
The task force will be head by an executive magistrate coupled with a medical officer. A citizen representative will be keeping an eye on the amount the private hospitals are charging to treat Covid patients and the treatment they are offering the patients.

They even have the authority to question the hospitals if they charge high rates for treatment.
Being a health web portal and working to make society healthy, we encourage this initiative by the state government.
